Looking towards the south end of Tar Works just after it closed. The tanks that were in the quarry behind the Bull Inn can clearly be seen.
This is the scene of desolation after the north end of the site had been cleared. The houses in Malvern Road can clearly be seen.

In the 1980s building work for the new housing was in progress. By 2007 they were complete and the Chapel has also be converted for housing.
This shot is a similar view probably from 1991. The chapel had been damaged by fire.

Looking from Troopers Hill towards the Board Mills as work started on demolition on that site. This view shows that there has been a really dramatic change in the landscape. The hillside shown here is now part of Crews Hole Woodland. The rendered building this side of the road is what used to be the Lamb Inn and was being used for offices at this time.
