A real-life fairy story

--- Posting from our now closed Forum ---
To be read aloud in the style of "Listen with Mother".

Once upon a time, not very long ago, there was a strange being called Kean Gardna. It had a wonderful, beautiful garden. One of the garden's most attractive features was a stand of pampas grass whose white feathery fronds would gleam in the sunshine in summer.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cortaderia_selloana

Every year Kean would trim the pampas grass, cutting the giant leaves and stalks and the feathery heads. Having a heap of cutting in its garden was not to be tolerated. It would be soooooo untidy. The creature had never heard of compost bins. The lord of the manor, Big Charles Cheese (BCC for short) offered all local beings big bags for a few coppers. BCC would then arrange for serfs to take away the full bags. Kean was too miserly to part with a single copper.

Kean took its garden waste and flytipped it on the woodland of Big Charles Cheese. The pile looked very ugly.

The local beings complained to Big Charles Cheese because they did not know from where the horrible stuff had come. Big Charles Cheese was much perplexed and sent his serfs to tidy away the mess. Kean did it AGAIN, many times, so Big Charles Cheese sent for a wizard who was not very good at spelling. The wizard made notes magically appear on local beings' doormats. The notes warned of dreadful penalties for flytipping but Kean paid no notice.

The nearby Fairies of Troopers Hill led children on walks and dances through the woodland and were not happy with the horrid mess. They weaved a magic spell called a Big Lottery Grant. Much rubbish vanished from the woodland and a kissing gate, missing for years, magically appeared.

Kean was so angry. It could not get its wheelbarrow through the kissing gate. What was it to do?

Spring came; the pampas grass was cut. Kean explored just a little further and dumped its ugly load on another woodland path.

The fairies were furious. They made a magic notice appear

but an evil magician made it disappear.

A bright yellow fairy flew in. Two waves of her wand and the waste was instantly bagged and ready to go.

Branches were placed to make tipping more difficult and a new notice magically appeared.

Yellow fairy wasn't very good at transportation spells so the friendly CPK

threw all the sacks on his Tonka Toy

and took them away to the RIGHT PLACE.

What will happen next?......
