Feb / Mar 2014 - Stargazing
The Bristol Astronomical Society came to Troopers Hill on two cold nights in February and March. They had not been here before, so were delighted to find what a great location the Hill is for Star Gazing.
To star gaze, it has to be dark, so this video appears to be black & white because it was shot in infra-red
Audio Trail Contributors 2013
This short video shows you the faces behind the audio trail we created in 2013.

The steeplejacks inspecting Troopers Hill Chimney on 7th February 2013 very kindly agreed to take our camera up with them to allow us to see these unique views. There are also some images of the work in progress.

Saturday 20th October 2012 - Stepping Forward Celebration
On a wonderful sunny October afternoon, many of those who had been involved in the Stepping Forward Project were joined by local families in Troopers Hill Field to celebrate the completion of the project.
Friday 1st June 2012 - Air Balloon School Jubilee Walk
To celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of HM Queen Elizabeth II the whole school (600 children & teachers) walked to Troopers Hill. 60 balloons were released and the National Anthem was sung. Everyone had a great time.
Summer Fun - 2011 Family Fun Picnic 13 August 2011
This video slide show with photos of the day set to music was first shown at our 2011 AGM. As well as shots of people of all ages enjoying the event, there are some great photos of the balloons.
More photos and details on our Events Page.
20th January 2011
On a wonderful sunny winter's day TreeBristol organised a tree planting day on Troopers Hill Field.
Friends of Troopers Hill were there to help along with a team from Sky Blue, but most of the work was done by children from three local schools - Summerhill, Air Balloon and Two Mile Hill. As well as the trees, we also planted more daffodils on the bank sloping down to the woodland.
More details on our Troopers Hill Field Page.
This video shows the Bugs & Beasties Hunt held on the Hill on Sat 8th August 2009.
As well as hunt itself there were lots of craft activities under our gazebos.
More details of this and other Friends of Troopers Hill events both past and future are available on our Events Page.
On Tuesday 4th August 2009 at 5 am our Secretary, Helen, took her place on The Fourth Plinth
in Trafalgar Square as part of Antony Gormley's One & Other project.
Helen displayed FOTH's unique cloth, which was specially created for us by children at Air
Balloon Hill Junior school in 2005 and also promoted our achievement of a third green flag. Helen devoted
the hour on the plinth to a yoga practice devised with the advice
of yoga instructor Sally Davies.
Listen to the sound of the dawn chorus as the morning light slowly illuminates the view from Troopers Hill.
Video and sound recorded between 04.45 and 05.45 on Wednesday 7th May 2008.
This video is of the Bird Bonanza held on the hill on Sat 18th February 2006 as part of National Nest Box Week.
The next two videos were made during 2005 and shown at our AGM
The first details a visit to an eighteenth century Bath House that is hidden in the woodland not far from Troopers Hill.
The Bath House is on private land and we are very grateful to the owners for allowing us to visit this unique part of Bristol's history.
The other video from 2005 features the School Project that took place just before Easter 2005.
Three video clips were produced in 2004
The first is the story of the restoration of the bench on the top of the hill, which was first shown at our 2004 AGM.
The second clip was filmed at our work party on 7th August 2004.
Finally there is a video of the 2004 Good Friday Service on the hill.
